Here's a little sneak peek of the paper piece that Mike and I are working on for the Medicine Agency show this September. My girl Crystal is curating this cute show featuring some incredible artists including my dude Ryan De La Hoz. I saw the Great Lake Swimmers last night at the Paradiso- the venue that used to be a church and is super magnificent and has amazing acoustics. And words cannot describe how happy I was to hear them live. It was so magical. I got super nerdy and flushed and introduced myself to the lead singer. Hah. Of course. Groupie patriotism. Anyway here's a couple pictures from last night and their music video for Your Rocky Spine (which you may have heard on a certain episode of Weeds).

I did a long bike ride today with some family. Like four hour racing speed ride. First ride of the season in Noord Holland. It was rough and we were going against the wind almost the entire time, but a seriously perfect way to see Holland. I don't think that I ever posted pictures of my paintings from the show. The are the only ones I have, however. They are unfinished. But after I get back from Amsterdam and they are up for the Spring Show I will get better pictures of them. This is all you get for now:

I will put up some detail shots of this later. It's a painting of two drawings my 4 year old niece, Skylar, did. This one was extremely fun to paint. The best is the detail of the edges of the paper. So many colors. I think I might expand on this and do a small series. We'll see what happens.

I've been looking for a leather knapsack for a while now, but ones I found where either too pricey or too dilapidated or what have you. I stumbled upon a Goodwill-esque store on Haarlemstraat called Volksbond. Great place, loads of potential DIY projects, inexpensive. You aren't going to believe me when I tell you I paid two euro for this baby. TWO EURO! That's like three USdollars! So amazing. Un-hemmed rough-edged leather, old school silver buckles, long strap. Serious love affair.
