Neat thing.

Brooklyn based artist David Horvitz's blog. Posts these random tasks almost everyday. They are pretty precious and simple.

Sony Bravia from Laurent MAKOWSKI on Vimeo.

I hope everyone has seen this. It is unreal genius. And filmed in San Francisco!

Also, I found this on Fecal Face a long time ago, two years maybe, and just found it again. I lost the link after my hard drive crashed. It's so beautiful, shot beautifully, oh man. It's just perfection.

And, I am currently working on a black version of the shredded shirt, except the shreds will be on the sides instead of in the middle of the front and back. Pictures when it happens.

Queen's Day tomorrow! So excited! Pictures of that a little later this week obviously. Also, I'm going to see Great Lake Swimmers in Utrecht, and then hopefully again at the Paradiso (in Amsterdam). This week is full full full.

The progression of things.

About half way done. Anneke's hair and Niko's jacket are still needing some lovin'. Mostly just detail work now. Probably another fifteen hours. I'm so sore from my ride. Yikes.

Straddling the line.

The stuff I make-
The beginning stages- where the drawing of the people I'm painting look pretty creepy. Hah.

My DIY project. The shredded shirt-

Only took me three hours...yikes.

The stuff I wish I could make. Rodarte-

Anatomy inspired! Double swoon.

And just for fun-

Michael Cera. Dude gets me every time. So precious.

I did a long bike ride today with some family. Like four hour racing speed ride. First ride of the season in Noord Holland. It was rough and we were going against the wind almost the entire time, but a seriously perfect way to see Holland. Four hours of riding through farms and neighborhoods and tulip fields = beautiful and sore. Picture of me at the starting line by Anneke. I look like I'm wearing a trashbag. Hah.

Made me miss my bicycle even more.

Oh, what do I miss about San Francisco, you ask?

The love of my life- the purple roadie. I'll be back soon for you, my little beauty.

Lots of pretty springtime-ish things.

+Couple of mine:

{I am having a seriously hard time controlling myself and not taking a thousand pictures of cherry blossoms and magnolias. They are in full bloom over here and my heart palpitates every time I pass a group of trees. But let's be honest, how can you not just adore these beauties?!}
{This is from the top of Nemo. I decided to climb it today because it boasts the best views of amsterdam.}

+Couple from others:

{Dream boat boy Jethro Cave-Nick Cave's son-with a Robert Frost text tattoo. swoon.}

Mm. Gotta save them pennies for one of these Peter Pilotto other worldly {literally+figuratively} frocks.

Okay. Next post; my art update. Pinky swear.

I don't think that I ever posted pictures of my paintings from the show. The are the only ones I have, however. They are unfinished. But after I get back from Amsterdam and they are up for the Spring Show I will get better pictures of them. This is all you get for now:

Yes, I still look the same. Glasses et al.
I will put up some detail shots of this later. It's a painting of two drawings my 4 year old niece, Skylar, did.  This one was extremely fun to paint. The best is the detail of the edges of the paper. So many colors. I think I might expand on this and do a small series. We'll see what happens.

Good things come in threes.

1. The top of the champagne bottle Nealy and I were drinking. Which was the image of a random lady in a field of sunflowers.

2. Esra Rosie!

Stumbled across her drawings on fffffound. She does stuff for publications like Nylon and Vice. Rather cute. http://www.esraroise.com/portfolio/selected-work

3. My vintage find of the week(maybe year):

I've been looking for a leather knapsack for a while now, but ones I found where either too pricey or too dilapidated or what have you. I stumbled upon a Goodwill-esque store on Haarlemstraat called Volksbond. Great place, loads of potential DIY projects, inexpensive. You aren't going to believe me when I tell you I paid two euro for this baby. TWO EURO! That's like three USdollars! So amazing. Un-hemmed rough-edged leather, old school silver buckles, long strap. Serious love affair.

The others.

London with my loves:

(Nerd!)

Extras from the shoot:

Alien Amy Winehouse. I was wearing like 15lbs of make-up. So rough.
